Who we are
This site is run by Qlistings Promotions Ltd, trading as qlistings.com and qlistingsnews.com, a company registered in Ireland (company number 649400). Our registered office is 2 Brookfield Avenue, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, A94 E0Y0. We are the controller of the personal data described here, except where this notice says otherwise. What Qlistings is
Qlistings is a property guide to five areas of Spain's Costa del Sol. Its AI assistant, Q, answers your questions from written area guides and from an estate agency's own live listings where an agency has connected them. You do not need an account to use it. Qlistings is not an estate agency: any viewing, offer or contract is between you and the agency.
What we collect, why, and our legal basis
- Conversations with Q. What you type, Q's replies, and anything you tell Q about what you are looking for (area, budget, bedrooms and so on). We use this to answer you and to improve Q. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the service. Please do not put sensitive details in the chat.
- Contact details you give us. If you ask to be put in touch with an agency, the name, email address or phone number you give are shared with that agency so it can reply. Legal basis: your request. We do not share them otherwise.
- If no agency is connected for your area. If you tell Q you want to speak to someone and no agency is connected for that area, Q asks you first. If you say yes, we take the name and the email address or phone number you give, with a short summary of the conversation, and receive it by email. We may then pass it to an estate agency that covers that area, which may contact you. We cannot say in advance which agency or when. Legal basis: your consent, given in the chat. You can withdraw it by emailing us.
- Estate agencies and their staff. We keep the agency's business details, the names and work email addresses of its users, its listings feed address and the listings it provides, to run the service and contact the agency about it. Legal basis: contract, and our legitimate interest in running the service.
- Waitlist and sign-up emails. Used to reply to you and to send the sign-in link or service messages you asked for. Legal basis: your request.
- Visit statistics, only if you accept. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records which pages are visited and a few events (for example that a chat was started, or that a WhatsApp link was clicked), with your device and browser type and approximate location. It never receives what you type to Q or any contact details. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer.
- Technical data. Your network (IP) address is used briefly to limit abuse, such as many messages or sign-up attempts in a short time, and our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
We do not ask for payment details, identity documents or a date of birth.
What we do not do
- We do not show adverts or share your data with advertising companies.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use advertising cookies, and we switch off Google's advertising features in Google Analytics.
Talking to an AI
Q is an AI. Every Q panel says so before you type anything. Q can be wrong, and it is not legal, tax or financial advice. Members of our team can read conversations to check and improve how Q answers.
Cookies and similar storage
We use what the site needs to work and, only if you accept, Google Analytics. See the cookie notice for details.
Who else handles data for us
- Anthropic processes the text of your messages to produce Q's replies.
- Railway hosts the site and its database.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Google provides Google Analytics, but only if you accept analytics cookies. Google may process this data outside the European Economic Area.
- Mapbox supplies the map on the Costa del Sol page, so loading the map sends your IP address to Mapbox.
- The agency you ask to hear from. Once you ask to be put in touch, or leave your contact details for an agency, that agency is responsible for what it does with them. See its own privacy notice.
We do not share your information with any other agency. We may disclose information if the law requires it. Some of these providers are outside the European Economic Area. Where that is so, transfers rely on the safeguards the law provides, such as standard contractual clauses.
Q on an agency's own website
Where an agency has placed Q on its own website, the agency decides to offer Q to its visitors and is the controller of those conversations. We run Q for the agency as its processor and handle that data only to provide the service. Ask the agency about anything to do with those conversations.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the reason we collected it, and no longer. In practice:
- Conversations with Q are kept while they are needed to answer you, to pass on a request you made to an agency, and to check and improve Q. We then delete them or remove anything that identifies you.
- Agency account details are kept while the agency is a customer or has a sign-up in progress, and afterwards only as long as the law requires, for example for tax records.
- Abuse-prevention records (IP address counters) are kept for hours, not months.
You can also ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018 you can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or give it to you in a portable form. Write to info@qlistings.com. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) or to the data protection authority in your own country.
Children
Qlistings is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
We may update this notice. We will change the date at the top when we do.
